For over 70 years, Whiddon has been widely regarded as an industry leader in aged care. Catering to regional, remote and rural communities in NSW and QLD, Whiddon offers a large variety of support and lifestyles, ranging from community care to residential living. Situated in the central west of NSW, their Temora location is an aged care home that provides residents with comfortable, personalised care in a beautiful setting. With panoramic views of the Narraburra Hills and Gloucester Park, the facility offers 24 hour care, a community centred lifestyle and extensive recreational programs.
Whiddon Temora, like every modern age care facility, faces serious and ever evolving challenges in the realms of compliance, digital communication and resident quality of care. So, with these issues in mind, Whiddon approached NCIS, in need of future-proofed age care technology that would non invasively monitor the most critical aspects of resident safety. The solution was required for approximately 36 beds.
In order to solve the problems listed above, NCIS opted to install the groundbreaking Talius PERS+ sensor monitoring solution featuring Activities of Daily Living with Sleep Sense. This technology measures BCG waves (ballistic forces generated by the heart) in order to track resident health and safety as often as every three seconds, communicating vital health indicators such as heart rate, breathing rate and quality of sleep. The monitor is placed underneath the bed frame rather than upon the resident, so it is both safe and unobtrusive. Additionally, through the installation of Talius Connect, the 36 beds were equipped with full nurse call functionality, allowing for the mobile application for nurses.
