Castillo Place, Bolton Clarke

Bundoora, VIC

Australia’s largest independent non for profit aged care provider, Bolton Clarke has set the standard for comfortable retirement living since its inception in the 19th century. Castillo Place is one of their newest communities and offers residents a vibrant, joyful and fulfilling lifestyle. Located in the buzzing heart of Polaris and Melbourne’s ‘university town’, Castillo Place is only a walking distance from numerous restaurants, retail outlets and public transport options. Each self contained apartment is spacious, modern and well equipped with sleek appliances and extensive storage space.

The Client's Challenge

Bolton Clarke needed a communications infrastructure that would allow a number of services to be integrated into one stable, future proofed technology network. They approached NCIS needing such a solution for 90 aged care independent living units, each of which required access to FTA and pay TV services, the internet and phone services. As well as this, the technology needed to consolidate services such as CCTV, access control, intercoms, WiFi 6 and EV charging.

The NCIS Solution

With an understanding of Bolton Clarke’s need for a communications infrastructure that is both scalable and future proofed, NCIS have opted to install a full Integrated Communications Network (ICN) that will make use of a Gigabit Passive Optical Network (GPON) transport layer running to each ILU (Independent Living Unit). This will allow for all of the site’s services to be integrated into one simple and sustainable fibre network. As well as this, the NCIS solution will provide Bolton Clarke Castillo Place with ISP (Internet Service Provider), internet and phone services for residents and corporate needs. This project is due to be completed by March 2024.
