MYVISTA is a modern, culturally appropriate and community-integrated aged care precinct located in the Northern suburb of Mirraooka, Perth WA. Designed to connect the local community with the elderly, it features a 112-Bed residential aged care facility, 45 retirement living apartments and a number of additional modern amenities – including corporate offices, an onsite café, medical centre, pharmacy, physio, therapy pool and gym.
MYVISTA’s CEO Irene Mooney met with our MD, Dean Beaumont, at the 2016 Information Technology in Aged Care Conference. Planning their new aged care home, the team identified that exceptional high-speed communications was essential for the new Mirrabooka site to become a future-proofed aged care precinct. Identifying this need early allowed for design decisions by Silver Thomas Hanley Architects to be incorporated in the development, while the goal of a superior GPON network solution was identified as a must.
Working closely with MYVISTA's Project Management team, Total PM, Tony Papalia and Sheldon Turner, while collaborating with BEST Consultants on the Communications Design, NCIS Group implemented a communications network capable of providing the highest level of residential and ageing in place services. The solution, delivered through a high-speed IP transport layer using our GPON, contained Head-End Infrastructure, FTA, Satellite TV, MATV solution, a full IP Nurse Call, IP Security and CCTV, Access control and Wireless Access points across the site. With this robust communications infrastructure in place, MYVISTA can enjoy the following benefits:
With more efficient communications, staff spend more personal, face-to-face time with residents. Plus, with feature-rich entertainment and fast, simple connectivity, residents are constantly entertained and connected.
Improved care opportunities in eHealth, with the ability for live doctor-to-patient video conferencing, remote monitoring, analysis, cloud-based services and the ability to generate and analyse big data.
With just a one communications room at the facility, spatial savings can be used to improve activities for residents.
Our infrastructure provide a smooth migration to network solutions of the future, allowing residents to age in place by eliminating the need to move them as their care requirements change.
